WAS #10 in Valencia is the perfect place to show the industry the “new Roamsys” with a strong focus on innovation and new technologies. The relaunched company structure already pushed ideas and strategies summed up in the RoamsysNext claim “Driving Global Connectivity”.
Being industry innovators for at least a decade we worked together with the GSMA to establish the RAEX standard helping more than 600 operators distributing their IR.21 and IOT/OpData documents in a standard and machine-readable format.
These strong bonds with the GSMA now got even stronger as we welcome Mr. Gautam Gianchandani as our new Business Innovation manager. Gautam, current Engagement Director Wholesale Roaming at the GSMA, is a well-known expert when it comes to new technologies and innovative workflows.

CEO Michael Grasmück is convinced that Gautam will inspire the whole company on its new way: “I am very happy that Gautam is taking the lead of our innovation department, since he has great experience as chair of the GSMA Interoperability Data specifications and Settlement (IDS) working group, where the billing and charging evolution processes were completed, and before that as chair of the IDS sub-group Financial Clearing and Settlement (FCS). With this position we can be sure that our ideas will match perfectly with the current developments and needs of the industry.”
Especially when it comes to new technologies like blockchain, smart contracts and distributed layers operator involvement through the GSMA is necessary to introduce a new standard that can add an extra layer of security and trust. For Gautam the close cooperation between operators, the GSMA and technology experts like RoamsysNext will help to avoid multiple single solutions that will not work together perfectly: “We know that especially blockchain is of high interest at the moment and a lot of operators and corporates are working on ideas and solutions to find out if this new technology will help them improving their workflows and services to be more secure, get faster results and become more independent of 3rd party solutions.”
